What is Chillin'
Chillin' is basically the story of six
boys, who are white and wish they were (and actually think they are...)
black. The project began in late 1998 when Adam Brake and Adam Warren (Homely
Homes and Fat Tony) were in gym class one day. As the story goes A.W began
chanting while shooting some hoops, "niggaboy can do anything!" then A.B
followed with "Homely Homes got yo back.", The rest is history. With these
names personalities followed, A.B and A.W realized they were on to something
big. Since the two believed that this was going to be big, they began to
talk with some of their closest friends and cast members, Scott Simms,
Greg Gale, Mike Best and Philip Payne (vanilla toothpick, ice capade, yo
and keys). soon after some very loose planning of the first full length
feature film, the group began production. The first production was a huge
success, countless bootlegs of the film were made (somewhere in the area
of like 4) traveling tens of kilometers to Pasadena Nfld.
After a 2-3 month disapperance of
the chillin crew, the decision to make another film was made. Armed with
the knowledge and wisdom of previous film making experience a second film
was actually written (as opposed to chillin 1 which was total improv).
A Trailer was made and the greedy audience anticipated the second release
set for October of 1999. The film was almost scrapped because of
scheduling problems, and some lack of dedication, but when september rolled
around the group had fresh ideas and were ready to start all over again.
The group would like to thank it's
audience for all of the support over the past year, fat tony wishes to
thank the skanks ( he says last night was da bomb) and they especially
would like to thank drove for giving us the knowledge and drive to go on
with the second film....
But we really, really, really want to thank the skanks...you
know who you are...
